4-day Andalusia Cooking Workshop

Four days where taste, tradition and experience come together in the heart of Andalusia. This journey starts under the southern Spanish sun, where markets bustle, wine cellars tell stories and cooking is a way of life. From the first glass of Cava to the last dinner together, it's all about tasting, discovering and connecting.

We take our time. Time to wander around local markets, learn about the ingredients at their origin and cook together at extraordinary locations. Accompanied by Jan Gerard, we dive into Andalusian cuisine: honest, pure and full of history. Not from recipes alone, but from feelings, seasons and stories. Between Cadiz, Jerez and Rota, the pace slows down automatically. There is room for attention, for conversations at the table and for unhurried enjoyment. This trip is not about what you do, but about what you bring with you. The flavors, inspiration, and memories stay long after you're back home. And often that is just enough.

Day 1 — Welcome to Andalusia
After arriving at Malaga Airport, you will be personally welcomed by Jan Gerard. On the way to our charming accommodation, we'll stop for a first introduction to Spain: delicious local tapas with a glass of cool cava. In the afternoon, an introduction session will follow explaining the program and a masterclass on Andalusian cuisine. You'll learn about the origins of typical dishes such as salmorejo, tortilla de camarones and berenjenas con miel, and discover the secrets of seasonal products and regional food culture. In the evening, we'll enjoy a dinner together in an authentic Spanish restaurant, with the theme: taste the atmosphere, experience and cuisine of Andalusia.
Day 2 — Mercado Central & 3-course festive menu
After a relaxing breakfast, we travel to the charming port city of Cadiz. While walking through the old town, we visit the lively Mercado Central de Abastos, where local chefs buy their fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and herbs. Between the colorful stalls, we enjoy a tasting of delicious tapas and select the ingredients for our evening menu together. In the afternoon, we arrive at a special cooking location. Under the guidance of Jan Gerard, we cook a festive 3-course meal with passion and emotion. In small groups, we prepare dishes that reflect the soul of Andalusia, with room for creativity and fun. In the evening, we sit down at a beautifully set table and serve our own creations, accompanied by exquisite local wines. An evening full of flavor, connection and warmth, a culinary highlight of the trip.
Day 3 — Masterclass & Culinary Celebration
After a leisurely breakfast, we'll head to Jerez de la Frontera, where we'll have an exclusive visit to Bodega Lustau, one of Spain's oldest and most renowned sherry houses. On a tour of the historic cellars, we'll taste different types of sherries, from light Manzanilla to rich Pedro Ximénez, while the scent of oak and grapes fills the air. Then we travel to the charming Le Cheval winery near Rota. Among the vineyards, a local chef talks about the art of the Paella, followed by a leisurely lunch at the estate overlooking the hills. In the evening, we enjoy an atmospheric dinner at a local restaurant, where the flavors of Andalusia come together: Jamón Ibérico, chorizo, olives and olive oil, followed by fragrant Moorish tajines. During this special evening, Jan Gerard surprises everyone with a personal gift and a certificate of participation, a warm end to an unforgettable trip.
Day 4 — Farewell to Andalusia
After having a local breakfast and checking out of our accommodation, we get ready for the return trip to Coste del Sol Airport in Malaga. Our private driver will take us back. Here we say goodbye to each other and with a lot of new impressions and experiences, you can work at home with the inspiration and knowledge gained.
