De Mas & the surrounding area
The Mas is a traditional stone farmhouse with a long history, lovingly renovated while maintaining character and simplicity. There are bright rooms, a spacious living room, kitchen, multiple terraces and a garden with old trees and a swimming pool. From the Mas, you can look out over the rolling countryside, where the light changes color throughout the day — an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
Daily rhythm
Each day begins silently with a guided meditation. This meditation helps to land in the body, open the senses and make room for creativity. After a relaxing breakfast, the painting program follows. In the morning, we work in a concentrated way, with attention to technique, perception and intuition. Around noon, Jan Gerard will be ready with a lovingly prepared lunch. He works with fresh, seasonal products from the region: ripe vegetables, fragrant herbs, local cheeses and artisan bread. The lunches are not only nourishing, but are also a daily social and sensory highlight.
Painting
The painting program is accessible to both beginners and experts. The mornings always have a different accent: learning to see, working with color and light, landscape painting, and imagining the inner landscape. There is room for individual guidance and for following your own pace.
Afternoons & free time
After lunch, there is plenty of room for rest and integration. Guests can swim, walk, read or continue working on you independently. On some days, there is a joint trip to a village or market, where colors, scents and encounters offer new inspiration.
Evenings
The evenings are relaxed and casual. Sometimes people eat together at the long table at the Mas, sometimes in a local restaurant. There is room for conversation, silence, music or simply being together under the stars.
Completion
At the end of the week, the paintings will be viewed together in an informal presentation. Not the result, but the process is key: what has arisen, what has been seen and felt?
